John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people by his lyrics. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf from Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, fell in love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver became the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. To many, Denver is the image of Colorado. If you travel with me, you will meet people on the other end of the globe. As an example, you might meet people who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief period of performing with small folk bands comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered the song's early versions and was aware that it was going to be one of the Top 10 hits. After singing to an enthusiastic crowd in Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
